Introducing the first chlorine sensor using Memosens technology for applications in wastewater and process water
Total chlorine – the sum of different chlorine components – is a good indicator of residual disinfectants in discharge water. This is not just important for the water & wastewater industry; disinfection applications can be found in food processing, utilities and any industry using process water. Endress+Hauser’s new low-maintenance sensor provides reliable total chlorine monitoring with all the benefits of Memosens digital technology, combining maximum process and data integrity with simple operation.
Safe disinfection
The Memosens CCS120D total chlorine sensor has two jobs: to ensure the efficiency of the disinfection and to guarantee the quality and safety of the discharge water. It achieves this through the stability and accuracy of the sensor, which is unaffected by varying process conditions. The low flow dependence ensures consistent process monitoring and safe compliance with limit values for total chlorine in the outlet.
CCS120D is suitable for common wastewater applications with total chlorine concentrations of 0.110mg/l. Flexible mounting options allow you to position the sensor exactly where it is needed to accurately determine the total chlorine content.
More process uptime
There is no routine downtime for the measuring point with Memosens technology. You pre-calibrate the sensor in the lab and swap it into the process in seconds. You don’t need to worry about errors or failures caused by humidity or corrosion either: Memosens’ non-metallic contacts and digital data transmission prevent this. The short sensor response time also enables faster detection and remedy of process changes or disturbances.
The sensor can be easily installed in all common disinfection assemblies and can replace existing analogue total chlorine sensors without major adjustments to the set-up. You can also connect the sensor to a Liquiline CM44 transmitter to combine other relevant parameters of liquid analysis.
Better performance
The membrane cap and electrolyte offer a long lifetime and can be exchanged rapidly. Heartbeat Technology allows for predictive maintenance, offering you the opportunity to improve your plant performance and reduce operating expenditure. Precise measurement ensures optimum dosage of chlorine, saving costs on chemicals and ensuring compliance with legal limits.
