In the challenging world of process automation, instrumentation is usually a small – but essential – part of a larger project. As well as manufacturing and servicing instruments, Endress+Hauser offers a range of engineering services to help customers reduce risk, improve productivity and control costs.
Although our roots are firmly embedded in the development and supply of process instrumentation, over 60 years’ experience in the process industry has allowed Endress+Hauser to develop a wide range of engineering skills. Our team of engineers and coordinators provide a range of project-related services including project management, system design, installation and commissioning following the well-established global Endress+Hauser project delivery standard.
Endress+Hauser’s engineered solutions can help to improve business processes in many different industries. “Customers come to us for help with things like inventory management or energy management,” explains Business Manager Andy Smith. “By managing their assets effectively they can not only meet legislative requirements but also reduce operating costs. And because we can design and build bespoke solutions we can meet our customers’ exact requirements.”
Analytical measurement in the wastewater industry is a particular focus for the solutions team, along with power generation plants (SWAS panels), industrial and municipal effluent. Project Engineer Martin Simmonite says there are particular advantages to commissioning a manufacturer for this type of work: “Not only is Endress+Hauser an established company with a reputation for quality, but it’s much easier for customers if they can access instruments and panels from a single source. They also know that the installation of the equipment will be to the manufacturer’s instructions.”
To support this focus, a large range of application solutions have been developed to ensure a good reliable analytical measurement can be obtained, often in difficult situations. These include items such as a range of cleaning systems for single or multiple sensors, sample extraction and de-aeration systems, and single/dual/triple validation sample boards for potable water analysis.
“Customers come to us for help with things like inventory management or energy management. By managing their assets effectively they can not only meet legislative requirements but also reduce operating costs. And because we can design and build bespoke solutions we can meet our customers’ exact requirements.”
