The Endress+Hauser subsidiaries SpectraSensors and Kaiser Optical Systems have merged to form a new company: Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis. By consolidating its expertise in the field of laser-based measurement technology, the Endress+Hauser Group is strengthening its focus on laboratory and process analysis.
In 2012 and 2013 Endress+Hauser acquired the US-based companies SpectraSensors and Kaiser Optical Systems, bringing innovative technologies on board. The Group strengthened its position in gas analysis with tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology from SpectraSensors. Kaiser Optical Systems, a global leader in Raman spectroscopy, brought expertise in the analysis of solids, liquids and gases across a wide range of applications, including vaccine production.
Together with Endress+Hauser Liquid Analysis and subsidiary Analytik Jena, the Group now has an extremely strong analysis portfolio for customers around the world. “The combination of our expertise in the lab and the process provides our customers with easy-to-use and robust measurements tailored to their applications,” says Dr Manfred Jagiella, who is responsible for the analytical business on the Endress+Hauser Executive Board. “Raman spectroscopy and TDLAS fit perfectly as advanced technologies into our analysis portfolio.”
After a strong performance in 2021, analysis technology now accounts for nearly a quarter of Endress+Hauser’s sales. And more innovation is planned. There will be expansions to the existing successful platforms for liquid analysis, Liquiline and Memosens, with new sophisticated functions and several additional parameters, such as oil in water. Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis has the new J22 gas analyser in its portfolio and other members of this TDLAS family will follow. The Group is also investing in further development of the Raman spectroscopy technology for new applications.
