The extraction and transport of water often takes place in remote areas without access to electricity or wired data transfer. For such applications, Endress+Hauser has developed the innovative battery-operated Promag W 800 flowmeter. It allows maintenance-free operation for up to 15 years and secure access to your data from wherever you are in the world.
The Promag W 800 improves water resource management as well as overall process efficiency. From untreated water in lakes and rivers to the distribution of drinking water, the Promag W ensures reliable and precise monitoring and prevents loss of revenue from unnoticed leaks. With additional corrosion protection and submersion options, the flowmeter can even be installed permanently underground or underwater. Long-term measuring operation is guaranteed even in salty environments or in applications with significant fluctuations in humidity or temperature.
The flowmeter’s cellular radio communication capability guarantees secure data access from anywhere in the world. With end-to-end encryption, your data is safe. Using Endress+Hauser’s SmartBlue app, you can also operate and commission the flowmeter via Bluetooth on site, even when the meter is installed in hard-to-reach areas. For access to measurement values from anywhere at any time, you can connect the Promag W 800 to the cloud using Endress+Hauser’s Netilion infrastructure and corresponding apps.
Heartbeat Technology
In critical applications, even small inaccuracies in flow measurement can have severe repercussions. However, for around-the-clock operation in the water business, it may be unrealistic to remove flowmeters for test measurements or recalibration, particularly in large water pipelines.
To combat this, integrated Heartbeat Technology makes it possible to monitor Promag flowmeters continuously, verify their functional capability at the press of a button and provide evidence of consistently high measuring accuracy within the specification. This assures compliance with the regulations that apply to fiscal metering measuring points – during operation and without interrupting the process. If Promag W 800 is part of the Netilion Water Network Insights solution, users can start and view this metrologically traceable verification function directly over the cloud.
The verification logs are generated automatically and stored securely, for example for later audits or drafting documentation that complies with statutory requirements. This enables even legally required calibration intervals to be extended. For water system operators, all of this means significantly lower costs when operating measuring points.
